Five End of Year Goals

Yes, I know it is nearly the end of January, this month seems to have flown by... the years just keep going by FAR too quickly. Where the heck does all the time go?

I love setting goals but at the start of the year I didn't want to rush my five end of year goals and have them end up being cliche so here I am now after a lot of thinking. So, this year I’m taking things one step at a time. I’m going to ignore the things I do not end up doing, and instead I've put together a mini list of all the things I want to do more of before this year is over…

~ Explore More ~

Obviously I have alread been to London this year already and I am not nescessarily talking huge trips or long holidays. I just mean that I want to explore what I have around me a little more. The small things like day trips, one night get-aways. I have a few places in mind that I haven't been to yet and they are so close by but just never got round to it yet.

~ Be Present ~

I am constantly planning what I have coming up next week, next month... or how can I take things to the next level and as much as I love being uber organised and prepared I need to make sure I take the time out every now and then to enjoy the time I have with my family and friends. Planning for the future is scary but necessary, and so is living in the moment. In 2018, I will allow myself to be exactly where I am and enjoy it.

~ Become Healthier ~

I have never been the sporty type, I never made it on to the sports teams unless they needed a substitue and as for going to the gym it just isn't my thing. So instead of promising myself I'll workout, I will plan healthy meals, and ensure I skip the cake and chocolate aisle and head straight to the fruit and veg!

~ Spend More Time Offline ~

We are all guilty of this but I can be quite addicted to my phone, it’s the last thing I check at night, the first thing in the morning and sometimes it can become a little over whelming, with all the views and opinions, likes and stats. So I want to spend more time offline (especially in the evenings and weekends)... my aim is to keep that as "me" time!

~ Continue With My Blog ~

I absolutely adore having this little space on the internet, and I have done for the past three years. I am beyond grateful for all the support I have had on my posts....but I start off the year with such good intentions and as the year goes on I slack on posts so I want to be back posting regularly with content that I love and I am proud of posting.

Let’s hope it goes well! What are a few of your personal goals for 2018?

The One With The Red Trousers

Recently,  I have really been trying to step out of my comfort zone when it comes it bright, bold coloured clothing and as much as I love my usual monochrome wardrobe (I will still always love my black & white stripes) it has been SO fun caring less and trying new pieces I’d never usually think to pick up from the shops!

I have tried so hard to mix up what I am buying but there will always be the doubts and “what ifs”. I overthink every item to what if it’s too bright…what if it doesn’t suit me… but you know I have decide to tell my head to DO ONE!! I am so much more happier going with the flow - wear what I want, when I want.

And I am now OBSESSED with red clothing - Yes, I did say RED!! These trousers are a cheap beauty from Missguided… and the jacket is from Zara. It's been real difficult at the moment to find good clothing I love as the shops are still full of sales. But I am super duper excited for the spring summer ranges to hit the stores... so, bring on ALL the summer colours and alllll the pieces I actually loveeee.

Lets Explore || London

OH how I LOVE London. It has been a good few years back since I was last visited the city but I’m one of those people who just loves visiting somewhere multiple times, especially when there is SOooo much to do for just one or two trips. I love exploring new places, finding new things I never knew existed and I always feel SOoo much for confident about exploring it properly.

We did all the touristy stuff like a West End show, museums blah... – but we also managed to do a WHOLE load of un-touristy stuff. So, I thought I’d give you a lil run down of what we got up, where we stayed and what we loved…. Heads up, this is gonna be a rambly one so grab a cuppa, some biscuits & get comfy!

~ THE 'HOTEL' ~

This was my first time using Airbnb and I was really impressed with what we got, it was a relatively cheap room but had all the essentials and location was perfect for Camden town with it being only a 10 minute walk away from the market. But seriously if you’re after somewhere reasonably priced, with an uber comfy bed, near to everything you need & the underground then this is the one.

 ~ THE SHOPPING ~

Now, you really can’t visit London without a lil bit of shopping. Whenever I have visited London, I've only ever shopped along Oxford Street and Regent Street, as much as I love high street shopping, scooping up it was great to explore smaller independent stalls and shops in the likes of Camden and Shoreditch (of course, Brick Lane)!! Although we didn’t go crazy, I still wanted to look at every. single. shop. that we walked by. to only come home with a few purchases.

~ WHAT I LOVED ~

London is one of those places where you can just walk, walk & walk some more – ANYWAY, after we were done with all the eating and shopping there was still SO much for us to see and do. We decided to hit us as many free things as possible!! If you’re after a museum there are TONSSS. Or head to Kings Cross Station to jump through to Platform 9 and 3/4's for a cheeky snap. And... hands down my favourite thing we did we were Sky Garden. Thirty-five floors high and views of the whole city what more could you ask for!

If you managed to reach this far then wow thank you.... but if you’re currently sat thinking - why aren't you in any of the photos !? Well, it’s coming. I just wanted to separate posts on what I was wearing, because well, let’s face it, most of our trip time was me begging Alex to take snaps (!!) So for now, that’s #comingsoon.

I hope you enjoyed this v long post of what we got up to, where’s your fave spot in London?

New Year, Same Me

So yes, it is that time of year when everyone sets goals and resolutions and saying sure it is the 'New Year, New Me' I can do this!! I don't mean to be a party pooper but anytime I have set resolutions I tend to break them within the first month if not sooner... so this year I don’t fancy finding a new me, I’m happy as I am.

With that in mind, I thought lets have a break from talking all about goals for 2018 (that's for now, that is).... And since January can be the really boring tiring month that drags, I want to share all the bloopers and outtakes from my posts in 2017. I guess this is me and I wouldn't change who I am or the people around me. I feel this truly shows how us bloggers are not the stylish creatures some people think they are 100% of the time, so feel free to have a giggle at the pictures of me whilst out shooting photos and probably receiving rather funny looks from people walking on by.

I guess all I can say is I am back and Happy New Year, from the same old me; because why constantly try change something when instead you can just learn to accept yourself for who you are and just live life to its full.

Enjoy, HM x
