Adore Me This Fall*

So for those of you who are reading this you're probably thinking not another Autumnal post, however, I love this season and there's just too much I have to share with you guys.  Even though it's getting colder weather and we dig out all our sweaters and woolly hats it's still no excuse to stop dressing like you can't still feel good underneath!

When Adore Me contacted me, they asked me to take part in their #flirtyfallflatlay project. Which is to create a flatlay featuring some of my favourite underwear and how I would style it for fall, I was so excited to get involved as this is my favourite time of year and recently I have fallen head over heels for buying cute lacy bralettes.

Lacy bralettes are taking the world by storm at the moment. Everyone seems to be wearing them, whether they've layered it with a shirt like myself or under a hoodie. They are just super comfy and look sooooo pretty! For myself, they really boost my self-confidence as you can style them so many ways and it just makes such an impact and gives me a huge step up in being able to conquer anything thrown my way.

That's all I have for today's post but I hope you liked this style of post! This is my first kind of proper underwear post you could say so I hope you enjoy it. Remember if you're looking for new underwear then head over to Adore Me and to their Pinterest for more inspiration on how to style for autumn too!

Lots of Love,

New In : Autumn Buys

When it comes to autumn, it has got to be my all time favourite time of the year to shop – meaning it's dangerous time for my purse! And with it being numerous student lock in nights at the two shopping centres in Manchester I couldn't resist not buying a few new clothes. Sooooo I thought I would show you some of my favourite purchases from the past few month. Obviously you can't go wrong with cosy jumpers to layer up underneath with the perfect denim jacket!

What have your favourite items been so far this autumn?

Primark Maxi Waterfall Coat £22: At first I was undecided, but then I was drawn to buying it. I honestly have no idea how I will style this but I suppose I'll figure it out and match it with something. These waterfall coats seem to whats in for this season, so why not?

Pull & Bear Jumper £19.99: I just can't say no to buying jumpers, especially this one as I lurveee the sporty varsity style with the stripes on the shoulders and upper arms! I feel with this jumper you could dress it any way, whether its casual with leggings or smarter with a skirt or layered on top of a dress.

Topshop Earrings £5: First of all, hooped earrings are literally an essentially, and second, they are rose gold coloured!! I love the smaller hoops as they are the perfect size for a daily basis however the others are great to partner up and accessorise an outfit for going out in.

Hollister Bralette £14: I may have an obsession with barlettes, and when I stumbled across this one in Hollister it was instantly taken to the checkout. It's one of those super soft, comfy bras that you can get away with wearing underneath a jumper and since it is halter neck it gives such amazing support.

Missguided Dress £15: Sometimes it becomes boring wearing jeans everyday which is why I bought a casual t-shirt dress. It'll be perfect for throwing on in a morning and wearing it with my Dr Marten boots and paired with a denim jacket too!

Pull & Bear Phone Case £7.99: Finding the right phone case can be a nightmare, however I was queuing to pay for the green jumper when I spotted a cooper coloured phone case and I couldn't resist buying it, oops!

Adidas Stan Smiths £44.99: I’d been swooning over these trainers for a little while and finally gave in a couple of weeks ago in Office at the Arndale Centre. I rarely ever buy trainers but these are just perfect. I love the simple yet classic style which is great for a casual day to day pair of trainers. However I only got them at this price because they are Juniors since I've only got a a size 4 foot so may as well make the most of it since it's cheaper and I just couldn’t say no!

Autumnal Makeup

One of my favourite things about Autumn is all of the beautiful seasonal colours and shades that start appearing, particularly in beauty products and new releases. I thought I’d share a few gorgeous shades and products I’ve been using recently. I find myself really starting to enjoy different products and shades at this time of year. When the weather gets cooler I tend to move away from pastel shades and into deeper tones.

To start I have then been warming up my collection with a splash of Benefit’s Hoola. I bought this product when I was over in New York after a lot of recommendations and it adds a really natural bronze look.

I tend to find myself wearing more shimmery, gold eye shadows at this time of year too, these shades are from NYX and Seventeen. They are so pretty and when layered together they create such a beautiful tone and compliment each other beautifully.

The NYX single eyeshadow in Gold Lust is more of a lose shadow that you would use on top to compact heavier colours whilst adding a bit of sparkle. Whereas the Seventeen single eyeshadow in the shade Walnut Pearl is super pigmented and looks amazing on its own once blended in. However I tend to layer them and the mix of the gold tones and brown shades are stunning. I can't get enough of browns and gold eyeshadows as they are perfect for any season but especially autumn time!

Moving on to lips. Again I go for deeper, richer tones. I love the matte effect lipsticks and lipcreams as they are more pigmented and seem to last a lot longer during the day too. The liquid suede lip cream collection by NYX has to be one of favourite lip collections ever as the colour is long lasting and is perfect for this time of year as it keeps your lips well moisturised. However the standard NYX coloured lipsticks have a more shimmery look which are best suited for autumn christmas time too. Finally you can never go wrong with a classic matte lipstick in a deep red tone. I particularly love the matte collection from Sleek and the shade Dare.

Finally there is only one way to finish off any autumnal look and its by having the classic deep red nail colour. Obviously there is so many dark red nail paint out on the market, but I particularly like the BarryM Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint because its long lasting nail polish and gives a shiny finish to your nails after two coats of polish.

V Festival

Time flies when you’re having fun, but here’s a few snaps from my amazing weekend at V Festival. This was my first time at V Festival and I am already planning on going next year.

AH! I couldn't get enough of all the good music!! I don’t think I’ve danced that much in like... ever. The best act who was there has to have been David Guetta and Rihanna! I've never really been a huge listener of David Guetta, but all the hype, lights and fireworks made it really good (well apart from the fact we were stood in between two mosh pits).  I loved it so much, I didn’t want it to end!! I’ll be back for next year, that’s for sure!  Anyway.. the best thing about the whole festival was having the opportunity to go to such an amazing surreal festival with a few of my extremely close friends where we could just go party and dance in the fields like no one was watching.

Life Update

Today was a big day for a lot of us in the UK since it was A-level results day. The day that we dread from the minute our exams are over. For many of us it is the day where many of our dreams are finally beginning to come true.

First up I just want to applaud you and give you a pat on the back for getting this far. Sixth form is hard and there is no denying it. We've all had are fair share of wobbles and lack of self-confidence. But look at how much you have done in the past few years, you did it!

If you know me, you'll know that there has been an immense amount of pressure. Since my AS results didn't go as well as I was hoping so I needed to turn it around this last year. I ended up having to resit History AS so I somehow had to do both years in one as well as resubmitting AS units for Art, which was stressful to say the least.  September last year when everyone is discussing which universities and courses they are wanting to apply to made me realise that I couldn't mess around and that I needed to work god damn hard if i wanted to get in to the university I wanted.

The hard work paid of and guess what!!

I GOT IN TO UNIVERSITY!!!

I will be moving down to Salford in three weeks time (it's so close OMG) and I'll be attending Salford University this September to do a TV and Radio Production course.

Thursday has been an absolute whirlwind of emotions, I think I just needed a moment to sit and write about the day. For those who are wondering I needed to get particular grades to get in to my firm university And I did it... I somehow managed to get a B in Art & Design and Media Studies and a D in History.

I am excited to start in September as its a new chapter and a new adventure ahead of me.

I hope everyone is as happy after results day as I am, but if not its not the end of the world, make a new plan and go and live it, no one is going to stop you. Congratulations to those who got their places and going off to the follow their dreams and I wish you all the best of luck.

New York Adventures

As many of you will already know because it's all I've talked about since I got back, but for those who don't last week I went to New York City for the week! How lucky am I!!

I fell in love this city the moment I stepped out of plane. Even driving from the airport gave me an excited feeling. I knew this holiday would be my favourite from the beginning. The first time I spotted the cityscape across the Hudson River, I couldn't help but smile. As cliche and cheesy as it sounds, I had Taylor Swift’s ‘Welcome to New York’ stuck in my head whilst driving through the streets of Manhattan to our hotel.

We stayed in the rather posh Roosevelt near the busy Times Square. Which meant our first night was spent strolling around Times Square, with lights that dazzled us and crowds so busy you could barely move.

Enough of me blabbing on about it all. Here is a selection of photos from our week away in New York.  I think I have more photos than days I was in the city to share with you, so I hope you’re as enthusiastic about The Big Apple as I am! But when you have views like those from the Empire State and Top of the Rock, blogger instinct takes over.

And so it begins...

Even more from New York coming soon!!

Caldew School - Class of 2016

Last Friday, 27th May 2016, marked the end of an era for many of us.

For anyone I go to sixth form they will understand that its no longer going to be the same anymore. The routine of being in the same building, being sat with the same friends and teachers day in and day out. It's strange to think that our journey of  5 years at school and an extra 2 years at sixth form has finally came to an end. I feel with all the exam stress and making sure all university applications and forms have been sent off, we forget that there has to be a day when it all comes to an end.

After making so many memories it feels weird to be saying good bye to it all. I'm not ready to grow up and become an adult just yet! Although I had a 'leavers day' at the end of year 11, this one embarked the official end as all of my friends, including myself, are heading off on new crazy adventures in life.

The opportunities, friends and memories have all been amazing, as much as I say I hate school I think I secretly like it for the laughs and the chance to better myself. It wasn't a really emotional day as I just wanted to spend time with friends and the people I love whilst looking back upon all the memories that have been shared with my year.

This is going to sound so cliche but my time at Caldew School has taught me a few things (which hasn't been for my courses). I've learnt to be myself. It can take a while to find who you are and what / where you want to go in life. If you asked me a few years ago I'd have dismissed the idea of university yet here I am with five offers back from my applications, including two unconditional offers. Plus there is so much expectation about school and sixth form, with you have to get all A*'s when in reality, you don't need A*A*A* to follow your dreams. As trust me I just about scrapped my first year in sixth form but you can pull it round if you be true to yourself and find the pathway you want to take in the future.

I want to take a moment to thank every single person in my year, for the laughs, tears, anger and just your kindness. Caldew School has been the place where we all grew and 'found ourselves'. Looking back to year 7 is a crazy experience; to think once I didn't know the people who I now don't know what I would do without is an odd experience.

I wish you all the best of luck in what ever you do.

*Of course, we had our leavers assembly which meant everyone got glammed up, so me being me got the camera out for HQ photos of my friends and I.

University Interview | Advice

As a few of you might already know but on Wednesday I had my first and only university interview. I'm hopefully going to study TV and Radio Production at Salford University in September which is scary as it's creeping closer by the day.

With many prospective uni students who will be partaking in admissions interviews in the upcoming months. I just wanted to share my top tips and advice on how to schedule, what to wear, and what to expect! As well as focusing on frequently asked questions that you may get asked during your interview and advice on how to answer those questions too.

PLAN- Before the interview, make sure you know where you’re going, how you’re going to travel and how long your journey will take. To avoid extra stress, give yourself plenty of time on the day. Don’t be late!

READ CAREFULLY- Look carefully through any material that is sent to you before the interview, so you know what to expect when you arrive.

EXPERIENCES + ACHIEVEMENTS- Don’t forget to bring along any documents you might need, certificates or a portfolio – this is really important!

DRESS APPROPRIATELY- Think about what you’re wearing and what it says about you. For professional courses, smart attire is expected.

KNOW YOUR STUFF- Find out about the university and course you’re being interviewed for and think about latest news in the area too.

ENGAGE- Listen carefully to what the interviewer is saying and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Just make sure that they haven’t already been answered in information you’ve been sent by the university.

Finally, just BE YOURSELF! They want to know about YOU, what makes YOU tick, why YOU want to study the subject you’ve applied for and why YOU want to come to that uni. Don't try be someone you're not and pretend to be different as you'll get caught out eventually.

Just watch this clip from Friends it sums it up...

It also help to get someone (who hopefully knows a bit about your subject) to give you a mock interview. Having some interview practice beforehand will help to boost your confidence and expose areas you need to work on.

Obviously there is a lot of universities that aren't going to ask you to attend interviews but they may ask for a "portfolio" of your work or if you're one of the lucky ones you can get offers straight away, but that all depends on which course you're applying for and where it is too.

If you do have to submit a portfolio then don't panic it's not the end of the world. You'll obviously be applying for a creative course and they will give you details of what they want to see from you but just make sure you select your best pieces of work. whether it's a collection of art work, photography, a short film or an article. The key thing to remember is quality over quantity as they want to see your skill and not how much you can produce.

I understand not everyone will be applying for university but this advice is transferable to whether you're wanting to move on to college or move up to sixth form and in fact some of the questions can even be asked in job interviews or finding works experience. I hope you enjoyed this and find the advice was somewhat helpful.

Thank you
